Green Hills, Exceptional Coffees

Heza Washing Station sits at the top of Burundi's green hills, surrounded by banana trees and lush tea plantations. Two coffee plantations and over 370 smallholder producers supply the cherries for this lot. At altitudes up to 2,200 meters, slow cherry development and spring-fed slopes create ideal conditions for complex, nuanced flavor. Only fully ripe cherries are accepted at the mill — depulped, fermented, water-sorted for density, and carefully dried on raised beds overlooking the hills.

The Long Miles Story

Long Miles Coffee Project has persisted in Burundi through extraordinary challenges, driven by a commitment to positive impact in some of the country's most remote rural communities. This is our 7th consecutive year partnering with them — a relationship built on trust, quality, and shared values. Every bag supports those producers directly.

The Result

A washed Burundian coffee that delivers caramel sweetness, floral honey, bright mandarin orange acidity, and a lingering raisin finish. Clean, complex, and deeply satisfying.
