Accounts Payable & Payroll Specialist 

REPORTS TO: Financial Controller & HR Coordinator
LOCATION: Sisters, Oregon
COLLABORATES WITH: Finance Team
FT/PT: Full-Time
COMPENSATION: $22-24/hour DOE


Sisters Coffee Company, based in beautiful Sisters, Oregon, is looking for a DETAIL-ORIENTED team player to join our growing company as our new Accounts Payable/Payroll Specialist. Established in 1989, we are a 2nd Generation family-owned and operated specialty coffee roaster, deeply rooted in the communities we serve. We have built on our family legacy as the original artisan coffee company in Central Oregon, a story of small-business passion and grit, purveying our beautiful coffees across Oregon and throughout this fine country. We operate retail cafes in Sisters, Bend and Portland, in addition to a regional wholesale program that services some of the best local establishments. As the Accounts Payable/Payroll Specialist, you’ll report to the Financial Controller and work shoulder-to-shoulder with our amazing team. In this position you will:

• Maintain all accounts payable reports, spreadsheets, and files.
• Accurately enter and process invoices and purchase orders into the accounting system, ensuring meticulous attention to detail and adherence to coding and matching protocols.
• Review all bills for appropriate documentation and approval and prepare weekly vendor checks.
• Respond to vendor inquiries, reconcile statements, and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain a systematic record-keeping system for all entered/paid invoices and related documentation.
• Process semi-monthly payroll for employees accurately and on schedule.
• Calculate wages, deductions, reimbursements, and maintain accurate records of timekeeping and leaves.
• Assist with various accounting and administrative tasks and projects.

• Accounts Payable and Payroll experience

• Proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel and Word, Google Platforms, Paychex, and Square POS a plus
• Strong problem-solving skills.

Production Team Member Job Description

Sisters Coffee Company is passionate about what we do. We are a Central Oregon roaster 34 years strong, serving our customers with wholehearted hospitality and a deep love for our craft. We’re looking for a new production team member to help us expand our efforts.
PRODUCTION TEAM
Collaborates with Production Team
→ Reports to Production Manager and Director of Coffee Production
→ Collaborates with Roasting Team
→ Collaborates with Blender Position
→ Collaborates with Wholesale Team
INTRODUCTION
We roast, package and deliver approximately 8,000 pounds of coffee every week. This role within the production team will be specifically focused on bagging and fulfilling wholesale and online orders. Orders are received from customer care and the wholesale team throughout the day. As a member of the production team, your job will be to weigh, bag, seal and fold various coffee bag sizes as well to effectively communicate a variety of coffee needs to the rest of the team. You will also be responsible for packaging each shipment according to the daily shipping deadline.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Producing all packaging materials for daily shipments, including labeling of bags and boxes.
  • Fulfilling all coffee orders with a variety of equipment, including blending, grinding and bagging coffee.
  • Working cohesively with fellow team members to ensure all orders are filled, packed and shipped in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Communicating with the Production Manager about any inventory shortages, errors or safety concerns.
  • Working with the production team to maintain and monitor our monthly inventory.
  • Other special projects, as necessary, to help the department be successful.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum of 1-2+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Strong verbal and communication skills with co-workers, vendors and customers.
  • Ability to stand/walk 8+ hrs per day.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs many times throughout the day.
  • Be self directed when needed but also comfortable taking direction when necessary.

COMPENSATION

BAKING TEAM MEMBER, BEND OR 

POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for enthusiastic and talented people to join the growing Kitchen and Baking Team at our new location in Bend's Old Mill District!

Candidates will demonstrate excellent customer service, exceptional communication with team members, and the consistent delivery of delicious food for our guests. We have a special focus on hospitality in a team-driven, high-volume, and fast-paced cafe environment. The back-of-house team at this cafe is responsible for working on the line, baking off pastries, food prep, kitchen dishes, and keeping a clean and organized workspace in the kitchen.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Food Quality and Preparation

  • Consistently prepare and serve high-quality food in an expedient manner.

  • Willingness to take on any tasks in daily kitchen flow

  • Participate in ongoing menu development to constantly hone your craft as a team member.

  • Demonstrate a consistent enthusiasm for preparing and serving food in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment. Participate in food education and ongoing food dialogue.

Store Operations

  • Adhere to kitchen safety and cleanliness standards while ensuring kitchen equipment is maintained

BARISTA - PORTLAND, OREGON

POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our barista team at the Pearl, our flagship cafe in Portland, OR. Successful team members demonstrate excellent customer service and exceptional communication skills. We have a special focus on hospitality in a team driven, high volume and fast-paced cafe environment.

One year of specialty coffee, retail, hospitality and/or customer service experience is required, with availability on both the weekends and weekdays.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Excellent Customer Service  

  • Warmly welcome and engage customers with an emphasis on hospitality as they enter the store.

  • Provide customers with a warm, friendly and sincere attitude as we host their cafe experience.

  • Help customers decide on the right product by offering samples and responding to their questions with a sense of urgency and proficient product knowledge.

  • Promote thoughtful and engaging conversations with customers while using intuition to read and feed the interaction, revolving around coffee ideas and an open mindedness to all beverage experiences.

Drink Quality and Coffee Preparation

  • Consistently prepare and serve high quality coffee beverages in an expedient manner.

  • Maintain exemplary preparation and serving standards on a consistent basis.  

  • Participate in ongoing tastings and trainings to constantly hone your craft as a barista.

  • Demonstrate a consistent enthusiasm for preparing and serving coffee drinks in a fast paced, high volume work environment.

  • Facilitate coffee education and ongoing coffee dialogue.

  • Maintain an up to date knowledge of current cafe offerings and continue your education of product knowledge both independently and with the shop trainer.
