Lacau is a micro-lot produced by fourteen coffee producers in the vicinity of Ducurai Village in Timor-Leste. Letefoho, an administrative post within the Ermera municipality where Ducurai is situated, is renowned for its high elevations and exceptional coffee production. The fourteen producers of Lacau are organized under Café Brisa Serena (CBS), an initiative of Peace Winds Japan, an aid organization that has been active in Timor-Leste since 1999, three years before the country gained independence in 2002.

CBS aids displaced rural communities in rebuilding their homes and enhancing familial and community incomes by imparting knowledge on cultivating high-quality arabica coffee. With guidance from CBS, the coffee producers have witnessed a significant improvement in the quality of their coffee. We continue to foster our relationship with these producers and CBS, now entering our fifth consecutive year of offering their coffee.

In this year's Lacau offering, we taste notes of red apple, caramel, dried coconut, dark chocolate, and dried blueberry.
