Ardi Natural is sourced from 300 smallholder coffee producers whose land surrounds the Mirado Coffee Processing station in Mirado, Ethiopia. Producers have small coffee plots which they use as a cash crop to supplement their incomes. Some producers actively cultivate coffee on their land but it is often growing wildly on their property. Ardi is made up of the heirloom variety 74158 which is indigenous to Ethiopia and thrives in the highland forests located there. Ardi is naturally processed, leaving the fruit intact around the coffee seeds during drying. This process brings forward the enzymatic fruitiness of this coffee and conserves water, a precious and vital resource. The coffee is carefully dried on raised beds and turned hourly to ensure an even drying. Our roast highlights vibrant fruity flavors with notes of: strawberry, nectarine, blueberry, honey, cinnamon, and passion fruit.
