México Chiapas Luis Ordóñez Pérez - In the lush green mountains of Chiapas state in southern Mexico Luis Ordóñez Pérez has been cultivating his land for over 25 years. Tending to his 25 hectare farm with his son Meynor, Luis is focused on getting the highest quality he can from his land. Labor shortages, an ongoing issue at coffee farms in Mexico and Guatemala in recent years, has caused Luis to adapt and innovate. Once thinking volume was the answer, Luis is now focused on his quality and building a mill to help his neighbors raise and stabilize their incomes through access to international specialty coffee markets. This lot, a blend of Garnica and Bourbon varieties, highlights Luis & Meynor’s quality first approach with sweet and crisp notes of golden raisin, lemon, cardamom, honey, and hops.
