Sítio Baixadão is owned and operated by Helisson Afonso Da Silva and his family. Located in Cristina, Brazil, Baixadão comprises multiple plots of land around the city. Initially, the farm did not cultivate coffee. However, in 1995, Helisson's family diversified their agricultural pursuits by introducing coffee, shifting their focus away from rice production. The coffee flourished, leading them to exclusively prioritize coffee cultivation and discontinue their rice farming operations.
After twenty years of coffee cultivation at Baixadão, Helisson’s father, Sebastião Afonso da Silva, won the 2015 Brazilian Cup of Excellence competition, a crowning achievement for the farm. The tradition of excellence continues at Baixadao with Helisson and this coffee is indicative of the family's meticulous standards. The 9th place finisher in the 2022 Cocarive Specialty Coffee Competition, this natural has notes of strawberry, red grape, vanilla, blueberry, kiwi, sugar cane, and milk chocolate.
